Generation Exchange (“Generation Exchange,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a nonprofit organization that provides intergenerational educational programs, technology workshops, volunteer opportunities, and related community services.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, register for an event, complete one of our forms, communicate with us, volunteer, donate, or otherwise interact with Generation Exchange.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, event-registration and attendance information, volunteer or program-participation information, accessibility needs, questions or other information you choose to provide, communications you send to us, donation or transaction information, and technical information such as browser type, device type, IP address, referring pages, and general website-usage information.
Payment information may be processed by a third-party payment provider. Generation Exchange does not necessarily receive or retain complete payment-card information.
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We may use personal information to process workshop, event, and program registrations; send registration confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, location information, and cancellation notices; respond to questions and provide participant support; coordinate volunteers, mentors, mentees, and community partners; process donations and provide transaction records; improve our programs, forms, website, and communications; maintain the safety, security, and integrity of our services; comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements; and send newsletters, fundraising communications, or other promotional messages when permitted by law and your communication preferences.
TEXT MESSAGING AND SMS CONSENT
If you expressly opt in to receive text messages, Generation Exchange may send you transactional messages related to the event or program for which you registered. These messages may include registration confirmations, event reminders, schedule or location updates, cancellation information, and responses to questions or support requests.

Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of registering for or participating in a Generation Exchange program.
Generation Exchange does not sell mobile telephone information. Mobile information, SMS opt-in data, and text-messaging consent will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. We may share information with service providers that help us operate our messaging program, such as form, communications, and telecommunications providers, solely as necessary to provide those services.
WHEN WE SHARE INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information to vendors that help operate our website, forms, email, text messaging, event-registration, payment, or data-storage systems; event hosts, program partners, or volunteers when reasonably necessary to administer an event or program; professional advisers such as attorneys, accountants, or auditors; government agencies or other parties when disclosure is required by law; and appropriate parties when necessary to protect participants, volunteers, Generation Exchange, or the public from fraud, abuse, security threats, or harm.
We do not sell personal information. Service providers are permitted to use personal information only as necessary to perform services for Generation Exchange or as otherwise allowed by law.

You may unsubscribe from promotional emails using the link in the message; opt out of text messages by replying STOP; request help with text messages by replying HELP; ask to review, correct, or delete personal information subject to applicable legal and recordkeeping requirements; or withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
Our programs may sometimes involve participants under 18. A parent or legal guardian may be required to authorize a minor’s participation and provide information on the minor’s behalf.
Children under 13 should not submit personal information directly through our website or forms without the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian. If you believe a child submitted information improperly, contact us so we can review and address it.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND LINKS
Our website and forms may link to or use third-party services such as Fillout, Twilio, payment processors, website-hosting providers, or event partners. Their handling of information is governed by their own privacy policies. Generation Exchange is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third-party websites or services.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
